Successful deer hunting doesn’t require a ton of equipment. These tips will make sure you will not only have fun, but you will also walk away with bragging rights on a successful hunt!
We may no longer have the need to hunt for our survival.
But hunting satisfies a primal need to compete against nature and win the prize that comes with knowing you were smarter than the average bear (or deer rather) and fed your family.
Not to mention the fact that when you are out in the woods hunting with your buddies, it happens to be a fun and entertaining experience.
Jamie Shares His Top 3 Deer Hunting Tips:
Deer Hunting Tip #1 – It’s All About the Timing:
Time is one of the chief factors to be kept in mind before leaving for deer hunting.
The best times to bag a deer are sunsets and sunrise.
This is because the lighting at these times confuses the sight of deer and you can catch them as they graze and look for food.
You can start as early as possible before sunrise by hiding yourself in a pop-up blind, your deer stand, or some other cover. This way you can hunker down and be quiet before they come out to feed.
Tip #2 Don’t Smell Like a Human – Smell Like the Outdoors:
If you think your most expensive perfume will aid you in catching your prey, then think again.
It would be better, if you avoid any kind of perfumes, after shaves, colognes or any kind of sturdy scented fragrance – even from your laundry detergent.
Try to keep the artificial smells to a minimum.
Before heading out, start by using unscented laundry detergent for your clothing, unscented deodorant, and even consider your soap and shampoo.
Once you are on site, try to blend the smell of your body and gear with the outdoors, otherwise the smell of a human body or your laundry detergent may keep the deer away.
We recommend our LockDown Outdoors Field Spray Dirt Scent and LockDown Outdoors Earth Cover Scent.
These products are designed to cover human odor and can be used on clothing, boots, blinds and other hunting gear.

Deer Hunting Tip #3 Silence is Your Friend:
Keeping noise and talking to a minimum significantly increases your chances of deer feeling safe near you as they come our to graze.
Though deer hunting may be a fun-packed and amusing experience for you and your friends, you need to take care of the noise factor.
Deer remain quite and cautious about sound.
This is the most important tip to be kept in mind while deer hunting; otherwise you will end up losing that prized buck.
These few simple basic tips, if kept in mind, will result in a better deer hunting experience. You’ll create memories and have fun not only for you, but for your friends and family, too.
